Mustangs News · 2019 BOYS TENNIS SEASON PREVIEW

The 2019 Boys Tennis season looks to be very promising for Head Coach Don Boynar.  Boynar returns 5 varsity letter winners from a year ago and 3 multi-sport athletes. The 2018 team went 6-6 and finished 3rd in the highly competitive GCC.  Coach Boynar thinks his very competitive schedule in 2019 will set his team up for a top 3 finish again in the GCC.

The players to watch in the 2019 season for the Mustangs include singles players: Cooper Downing, Ryukaku Takezowa and Matt Kennedy.  On the Doubles side, Boynar looks to the combination teams of Raghav Shah and Matt Ong, Joey Wyler and Jacob Munshower.

When asked about the expectations of his tennis team this season, Coach Boynar stated, “Our experience and out line-up should be very competitive.  We have some depth which we have not always had in the past, so we will have athletes pushing each other for positions every day and every week.”   In closing, Boynar added, “We play in a tough conference and play a tough schedule, but if we can stay healthy and control what we can control, we should be very successful”.
