Mustangs News · FALL SPORTS SEASONS COME TO AN END

This past weekend marked the end of the Fall sports season for all Fall Teams.  Football ended their season with a 56-21 loss to the #1 ranked team in the state and #7 ranked team in the country.  The Mustangs scored first with a defensive score, but Mentor was able to rally and score 21 points in the first quarter to take a 21-7 lead after 1 period of play.  Mentor just proved to be too much for the Mustangs as Mentor is indeed deserving of all those rankings.  The Mustangs football program ended their season with a 5-5 record and 2-5 record in the GCC.

The lady Mustangs soccer team saw their season come to an end in the Regional Finals held in Sandusky.  The Lady Mustangs were defeated by Anthony Wayne High School who remains undefeated.  The Mustangs were the first team all year to score multiple goals on Anthony Wayne.  The group of ladies battled intensely throughout the second half and nearly completed the 2 goal deficit comeback, but a couple shots just didn’t fall our way.

The Lady Mustangs Cross-Country season came to end at the State Meet.   Freshman Julia Isham placed 31st, missing All-Ohio by 1 spot.   Senior Megan Vapenik placed 61st out of a field of 183 girls. Congratulations to both ladies on a great effort

Congratulations to all Fall teams and Good Luck to all Winter teams as those seasons have begun as well.  We look forward to keeping the momentum going as we head into Winter sports.
