Mustangs News · Veris Selected to lead Mustangs Soccer Program


Kyle Veris was chosen as the next head coach for the Strongsville Mustangs Boys Soccer Program.  Veris replaces veteran coach, Tobey Cook, who chose to retire at the end of last season.

Kyle Veris was a Pioneer Conference MVP, 1st Team All Greater Cleveland, 1st Team All-Ohio, 1st Team All-Midwest player for Strongsville High School. Upon Graduation from Strongsville High School, Kyle attended The Ohio State University where he was a two-time 1st Team All-Big Ten center back.  As a result of his stellar college career he was selected in the 2006 MLS Draft 25th overall to the Los Angeles Galaxy, playing with recognizable names such as David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Colby Jones. Veris also played in Europe, with Norwegian 1st Division Club IL Hødd. In 2012, Kyle was was forced to retire in 2012 due to injuries and embarked on a coaching career.  Kyle began his soccer career as a student assistant at The Ohio State University working with the Men’s program. He also coached with several notable Columbus area Premier Soccer Clubs, including the Columbus Crew Academy, and currently coaches for the Cleveland Force Soccer Club. Over the last two years, Kyle has served as the Strongsville High School JV-A coach as well as varsity assistant coach.
