For the fifth time in programs illustrious history the Mustangs women’s soccer team returned from Columbus Mapfre Stadium as OHSAA D1 State Champions after defeating Olentangy Lewis Center Braves 3-1. Strongsville started strong going up 1-0 inside 10 minutes as Sr. Shelby Sallee scored on an assist by Jr. Coley Sidloski. The Braves battled right back and tied the score midway through half one. So. Taylor Demmerle scored a massive goal just before half off another Sidloski assist. In the second half the defense took over limiting Olentangy to just 3 shots on goal for the game. Fr. Abby Kudla made a couple of big saves in half 1 in half two the combination of Sr. Peyton Felton, Sr. Sarah Roberston, Sr. Madi Snyder, Jr. Libby Zacharyasz, So. Kylie Jicha, Fr. Macy Felton, and Fr. Julia Rocky kept the potent Braves attack at bay. Sidloski notched the final tally from an assist from Jr. Libby Majka.
The Mustangs capped their first perfect season in program history gong 20-0-0 on the year and only trailed once the entire season for 12 minutes out of the 1600 minutes played this year.
