The varsity girls’ tennis team won its third consecutive match with a 4-1 over visiting Midview Thursday afternoon. Gabby Spehar picked up the first point for the Mustangs at third singles as the second doubles team of Amelia Matousek and Bhavya Anoop claimed the second team point. First doubles (Vic Matelski/Steph Gaidos) clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. At first singles, Brooke Brengartner battled in the second set but Midview prevailed with a 7-5 victory in the second set to clinch the top court. At second doubles Manaar Muhammad held off her opponent 6-4, 6-3 to pick up the last team point. With the victory, Strongsville improves to 5-6 on the season. They are off until next Wednesday when the host Medina for the final GCC match of the season.
