The Strongsville Mustangs Green and White teams had solid showing, placing 1st and 3rd, in the season opener at Crossroads Elite Gymnastics. Joining the mustangs were gymnasts from Twinsburg, Nordonia, St Vincent-St Mary, and Hoban. Vault champions included Madison Estrela and Saaya Morton in 11th, Sarah Schoenberger in 10th, Nikki Dodd and Kelsey Kappel in 6th with an 8.0, Lorissa Schwab in 4th with an 8.7, Camryn Larissey in 3rd with a 9.0, and Katie Kappel in 2nd with a 9.25. Bars champions include Nikki Dodd in 10th, Saaya Morton in 9th, Kelsey Kappel in 7th, Lorissa Schwab in 5th, Katie Kappel in 4th, Camryn Larissey in 3rd with an 8.2, and Vyoma Trivedi in first with an 8.75. Trivedi was also the beam champion with an 8.7, Schwab and Morton were tied for 2nd with an 8.6, Sarah Schoenberger finished 5th with an 8.3, Nikki Dodd in 8th with an 8.2, and Katie Kappel in 10th with an 8.0. Katie Kappel won floor with an 8.65, Schwab and Julia Spicer finished in 3rd with an 8.6, Kelsey Kappel finished 7th with an 8.2, and Trivedi finished 9th with an 8.1. In the all around the mustangs finished 2nd-4th with the junior trio of Kappel, Schwab, and Trivedi. Freshman Kelsey Kappel finished 7th, senior Saaya Morton in 8th, and sophomore Sarah Schoenberger finished in 10th.
